Brass Plugins: Outlooker
100% Configuration System
One of the most powerful features of Brass is the
100% Configuration interface. Imagine
if you could change how your applications look simply by dragging
and dropping the user interface elements where you want them.
Every part of Outlooker is completely configurable,
wether you add one folder or 100.
To enable the 100% Configuration Design mode, either
check the "Enable 100% Configuration Design Mode" in the
visual configuration window
or select "Enable Design Mode" from the Brass tray menu
if you're a registered user.
Your display panel will look something like this:

Selecting Items
As you move your mouse over each item in the display
panel, a yellow highlight rectangle is drawn around it. This shows
you what item you're currently on top of (and therefore what item
any operations will be made on).
Repositioning Items
When you see the rectangle, click and hold the left
mouse button then move the mouse. The visual element you clicked
on will move with the mouse - drag it wherever you want then release
the mouse button to fix its new position.
Repositioning the New Mail icon
When you enter design mode you'll see a new email
icon appear. This is the icon that appears when new email arrives.
It's permanently displayed in design mode so you can reposition
it wherever you like. It will remember it's new position and appear
there when new email arrives.
Resizing Folder Summary Items
Folder summaries are a single line of text that gives
you a quick update on what's in the folder. They are always 1 line
of text high, so you can only resize the width of these items. Click
on the blue resize handle on the right of the summary item and drag
it left or right to resize.
Resizing Folder Display Items
Folder display items are the full lists of folders
and contents ("Inbox", "Next Tasks" and "Next
7 Days" in the above screenshot). You can resize the width
and height of these items.
As you drag the resize handle, the width of the item
expands as you move the mouse and more text is visible. The height
of a folder display item works a little differently.
As you drag the resize handle vertically, individual
lines of folder items appear and disappear. Outlooker will only
show complete item lines (it won't show only half-height lines)
and when you release the mouse button, the folder display height
will be automatically resized to the nearest full line height.
You can resize the display height to display more
items than are currently available. For example, your current query
may only show 3 items but you can still resize the height to fit
up to 5 items. The larger, 5 item height will be remembered so that
if 5 or more items are available in the future, they will be displayed.
In the screenshot above, the calendar display can
show about 5 more items than are currently available.
Changing the Font and Text Colour
of a Folder
To change the visual appearance of a folder's display
text, move the mouse over the folder so that the selection rectangle
appears around it. Right click once and a context menu will pop
up by the cursor.
From this menu you can select a new colour and font
for the folder you clicked on.
