:: Mime beta released Posted on April 13, 2007 at 6:49 pm I've been working hard on the next version of Mime, and figured you'd rather I write more code than more blog entries ;) The beta is now out, and can be downloaded at this link. New features include gesture accessors, extended Vista support for mouse gestures (some more work to be done on this) and alternate gesture activation. Cheers! Comments (0 so far) Posted on February 13, 2007 at 7:16 pm This is a brief note to an anonymous commenter on this blog (I have deleted your comment as it's both inflammatory and factually wrong). If you'd like to discuss your views in a calm and non-agressive manner I'd be more than happy to reply, however I'm not going to respond to the type of posting you just made. If you need to get in touch with me you have several ways: via this blog, via the forum private messaging system, via email (which you can also access via the forum by clicking my name and viewing my profile), or via a public post in the forum - several forums allow anonymous posting so you don't even need an account. I will be more than happy to get in touch, as long as you are calm and civil. Thanks. Comments (44 so far) Posted on November 3, 2006 at 9:53 pm Here's the problem with trying to support multiple versions of Office (Outlook) with one app. None of them damn well work the same, regardless of what the Microsoft docs say. Outlooker 0.2 works perfectly on Outlook 2000 and 2002, but has a random crashing bug on Outlook 2003. Irritating. I'll solve it shortly. Comments (0 so far) :: Typical Posted on October 18, 2006 at 11:24 am The next version of Outlooker is ready, but I've discovered 2 bugs which appear to be nothing to do with Outlooker itself. The first is a problem with Outlook - when you tell it to do a Send and Receive mail, it doesn't always work. There's no error, no failure, no way of telling what happened, just some of the time Outlook completely ignores the request to Send/Receive mail. I posted a bug report to Microsoft about this but had no replies, other than someone saying they weren't surprised. The second bug seems to be with PGP. If you use the PGP add-in with Outlook 2003 and Outlooker running, on rare occasion PGP will put up a "Failed to initialize" message. It seems to do this at random, and it's very rare, and even better it doesn't seem to break anything. But I can't find a reason why. All I can think is PGP doesn't properly hook into Outlook when it adds the Encrypt/Decrypt options to messages, and that's causing a problem. 2 minor things, neither of which I can fix. So I'll just do some more testing then release Outlooker v0.2 soon. Comments (9 so far) Posted on October 9, 2006 at 12:40 pm The updates to Outlooker are mostly finished now, it's just in beta test phase. A few small irritations to fix and then we're good for a release. I've added some handy new features, including the ability to Send/Receive email directly from the Outlooker panel. It's had a lot of stability updates too, and is benefiting from the new Brass 0.22 interfaces. I'll be releasing Mime, Outlooker and Weatherman on the same day (hopefully) so time to get working...
